Where to install CO2 detector?

The CO2 gas detector is mainly used to detect and monitor the indoor CO2 concentration, when the CO2 concentration exceeds the set range, the detector will automatically sound and light alarms to alert the indoor personnel to protect the indoor air quality.

Where to install CO2 detector?

When installing the CO2 detector, the diffusion and distribution of CO2 need to be considered. Therefore, it is recommended to install the CO2 detector sensor in the following locations:

  1. Indoor air circulation areas: The diffusion and distribution of carbon dioxide are related to air circulation. It is recommended that the CO2 detection sensor be installed in air circulation areas, such as near air conditioning vents, windows, or doors.
  2. Indoor personnel activity areas: Carbon dioxide is emitted by the human body, so it is recommended to install the carbon dioxide detection sensor in personnel activity areas, such as conference rooms, offices and other areas.
  3. Indoor equipment areas: Some equipment produces carbon dioxide, so install the carbon dioxide detection sensor in these areas, such as kitchens, printing rooms, and other areas.

Installation height

Carbon dioxide gas detectors should be installed 1.5 to 1.8 meters above the ground. Because carbon dioxide gas is denser than air and is enriched at low levels, and because carbon dioxide gas detectors have a limited distance that they can sense, installing them too high or too low above the ground will affect the accuracy of the detection.

At the same time, the following points should be noted when installing:

  1. avoid installing in the position of doorway, window vent, etc., so as to avoid the influence of external airflow interfering with the detection of CO2;
  2. avoid being too close to electrical equipment such as lights, so as not to interfere with the radiation of electrical equipment;
  3. Ensure that the front side of the CO2 gas detector is facing the room when installing so that it is convenient to sense the gas changes.

Precautions

  1. Installation position should be reasonable: according to the needs of indoor air quality monitoring, choose the appropriate type of equipment and installation position, so as to ensure the accuracy, practicality, and effectiveness of indoor air quality monitoring.
  2. Ensure that the detector works properly: the detector should be kept clean to avoid contamination by high CO2 concentration, moisture, grease, odor, etc. The detector should be calibrated and maintained regularly. Sensors should be calibrated and maintained regularly.
  3. Adjusting according to the monitoring results: Through the carbon dioxide concentration monitoring results, the operation status of indoor ventilation, air-conditioning, humidification, oxygen, and other equipment should be monitored in order to ensure indoor air quality.
  4. Prevent misoperation: When using the CO2 detector, be sure to follow the operating instructions in the product manual to avoid misoperation.
